“The wood is an off-cut left over from a dining table. That table was made for a house on the Oregon Coast that I’ve been going to for twenty-five years. I discovered the gloss finish as an accident while trying to seal the toxins in the paint. The finish turned the rough wood into an elegant, shining surface. I loved the way it looked, as did the friends I made the dining table for. This accident inspired a series of tables, all named after my favorite places on the coast. Adding the slick brushed aluminum legs, glass top and casters made this table a study in modernist industrial and reclaimed wood contrasts. Much like my own spirit, a bit of the urban and a bit of the earth.
