Media Cabinet

At its heart, this is a sheet music cabinet. The original idea was to provide storage for the sheet music collection of a piano-playing friend, but then we started adding storage for other things, like stereo components, books, and odds-and-ends. The look of the piece is therefore dictated by the various functions.
The style of the piece was motivated by my interest in making it feel big and somewhat elaborate. It has a variety of patterns, edges, and faces. In conjunction with that, I found a distinctive piece of maple burl to add light and pattern.
