The Fletcher Bay Sideboard has many elegant details for which Hugh Montgomery’s furniture is known. The sideboard’s subtle features include traditional pear wood beading along its lower stretchers, recessed drawer pulls backed with pear wood, stepped pear wood inlay bordering the Black Walnut top, and the discrete use of pear wood defining the edge of the raised side panels. This close cousin to Hugh’s Chesapeake Sideboard, offers a more generous size, many more details, and includes four hand dovetailed drawers. The details, striking wood combination, overall design and functionality contribute to the sideboard’s distinctive character.
